Six Flags Magic Mountain opened on Memorial Day weekend on May 29, 1971 as Magic Mountain, by the same company who then owned SeaWorld in San Diego. It wasn't until 1979, when the park was purchased by Six Flags and became the most well-known park in the Six Flags amusement park chain, which you can visit with your car rental LAX.
